And we lost about a week of flying time due to that and some bad weather in the middle of the month. In spite of that setback, we managed to do 33 flights which would al

The flights were conducted during both daytime and nighttime conditions with temperatures ranging from as cold as minus 51 degrees F (华氏度) to as warm as plus 5 degrees F. While most of you wouldnt think that 5 degrees F feels warm, to us, after al

46、most a month of nearly continuously below zero weather, a temperature of plus 5 degrees F actually feels pretty comfortable. In fact, for the last week or so, Ive been walking around in a fleece (羊毛制品) jacket rather than an ordinary coat.When we first arrived in late August, the sun was only up for

47、less than 6 hours each day, but the day length was increasing by 20 minutes each day. These trips are my favorite Antarctic trips since we have got to see sunrise and sunset every day and enjoy the Antarctic night sky and stars.This will probably be my last blog post from this trip, but Ill be returning to Antarctica in January with the New Zealand Antarctic Program.
